The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2011 was the fourth season of the popular Twenty20 cricket league, which was launched by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2008. The tournament had a round-robin format, where each team played the other nine teams once, and the top four teams then progressed to the knockout stage. Chennai Super Kings emerged as the champions of the tournament, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final by 58 runs.

Chris Gayle of Royal Challengers Bangalore was declared the Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance, while Sachin Tendulkar of Mumbai Indians won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament. The Purple Cap for the most wickets was won by Lasith Malinga of Mumbai Indians.

The tournament was also marked by some controversy, with allegations of corruption and spot-fixing being made against some players and officials. However, these allegations did not detract from the overall success of the tournament, which continued to grow in popularity and cement its place as one of the most-watched sporting events in the world.
