After defeating Zimbabwe by a huge margin of 71 runs, India entered the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup as the winner of Group '2' of the Super-12 stage. India defeated South Africa in Super-12 stage and defeated Pakistan, Netherlands and Bangladesh. India finished first in the group with 8 points from 5 matches and Pakistan finished second with 6 points from 5 matches.

Along with this, the semi-final equation of the ongoing World Cup in Australia has also been completed. New Zealand as the winner from group '1' and England as the runner-up and India as the winner from group '2' and Pakistan as the runner-up have entered the semi-finals.

The first semi-final of the tournament will be played between New Zealand and Pakistan on Wednesday, November 9. Similarly, England and India will compete in the second semi-final on Thursday, November 10.

Chasing the target of 187 runs set by India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Zimbabwe lost all wickets after scoring 115 runs in 17.2 overs.

Ryan Burl top scored with 35 and Sikandar Raza scored 34 runs for Zimbabwe. At the loss of 5 wickets for 36 runs, Raza and Berl shared a partnership of 60 runs. After Ashwin bowled Burl in the fourteenth over, India completely dominated the game again.

In India's bowling, Ravichandran Ashwin took the most 3 wickets (4-0-22-3), Linda Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets each. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh and Akshar Patel took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, India won the toss and scored 186 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav hit 6 fours and 4 sixes while scoring 61 runs off only 25 balls. KL Rahul scored 51 runs off 35 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. Virat Kohli scored 26 runs, Hardik Pandya scored 18 runs and Rohit Sharma scored 15 runs.

With the loss of 4 wickets for 101 runs, Suryakumar shared 65 runs in 35 balls with Hardik Pandya for the fifth wicket. Yadav completed his half century in just 23 balls. Sean Williams of Zimbabwe took 2 wickets for 9 runs.
