World Cup Winner Coach To Train Nepal Cricket Team Against Kenya

The former Australian right-handed batsman Dav Whatmore and world cup winning coach of Sri Lanka will come to Nepal to coach Nepal Cricket Team for two weeks. Dav Whatmore will coach the Nepalese side for the upcoming tournament against Kenya for the fifth round of the ICC World Cricket League Championship under the proposal of Bat and Ball Foundation. Bat and Ball Foundation had writtenly informed the ICC and Nepal Cricket Players Association to bring Dav Whatmore to coach Nepal Cricket Team.

Dav Whatmore who was born in Sri Lanka in 16th March 1954 and was migrated to Australia in 1962 with his family. Whatmore has played 7 Test Matches in 1979 and 1 ODI Match in 1980 from Australian Cricket Team. Dav Whatmore scored over 6000 runs for Australia club Victoria at first-class level.

Coaching Career of Dav Whatmore:

1. Dav Whatmore whohad coached Sri Lanka in 1996 World Cup had won the World Cup.

2. Coached Lancashire in 1998 and 1999 and won the National League.

3. Coached Lancashire in Natwest Trophy in 1998.

4. Coached Bangladesh from 2003-2007 and made them so good to surprise great Cricketing Nations and under his coaching Bangladesh won their 1st Test Match victory in 2005. Also defeated top ranked teams like Australia (2005), South Africa (in 2007 World Cup) and India (in 2007 World Cup to reach Super 8 stage)

5. Coached Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from 2009-2012.

6. Dav Whatmore was appointed as Pakistan head coach on 4th March 2012 for two years as per the contract and Pakistan lifted the Asia Cup beating Bangladesh in the finals in 2012.

7. Appointed again as head coach of Zimbabwe on 30th December 2014 for 9 months.
