Indian cricket team have had some issues deciding their number 4 batsman in limited overs cricket. One can't forget Ambati Rayudu being ignored to have a place for Vijay Shankar in the ICC World Cup 2019.

This tweet created much hype in Indian cricket as Rayudu expressed his disappointment after being dropped from Indian side.

Rayudu was looked as the best number 4 batter for the Men in Blue but to be honest his absense was felt as India failed to reach the finals of the tournament after a defeat to New Zealand in semi finals.

However, India won't look to repeat the same mistake this time around. T20 world cup is very near and 50 over world cup isn't much far either. Indian team currently is the top ranked T20I team while they are placed 2nd in ODI ranking just after Australia.

There are a number of options available for India as far as their batting lineup is concerned. Here, we are looking at some best options that India might try for number 4 :

Rishabh Pant

The first name that comes to any cricket fan's mind for India's number 4 right now is Rishab Pant. Especially after his maiden ton against England that gave India a series victory. His unbeaten 125 runs came in a crucial stage when India had lost their top 3 guns Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli.

The left hand is always known for his hard hitting and attacking approach including his interesting strokeplays as well. In recent times, he also has shown a lot of maturity and is considered a great prospect for India in future.

Hardik Pandya

The allrounder from Baroda has been doing a great job with both bat and ball recently. After leading his team Gujarat Lions to maidel IPL title in the very first participation, Hardik has been in supreme from. He lead the Indian team against Ireland and won the series 2-0.

In the recently concluded ODI series against England which India won 2-1, Hardik was named Player of the Series. As far as my personal views are concerned, Hardik won't be used as permanent number 4. But yes, we can expect him to come at 4 in some occassions as wildcard option. I am sure that Hardik will hold a key for India in upcoming T20 world cup wherever he bats.

Suryakumar Yadav

Looking at his style of play and nature, Suryakumar Yadav too seems a good option at number 4. He hasn't had chances to bat at 4 in ODIs but he has done decently well in T20 cricket at number 4.

His records in IPL with Mumbai Indians also shows how capable he is for this position. As far as my personal views are concerned, Suryakumar would probably bat at 5 or 6 in ODIs and would be preferred at 4 in T20s.
