Football never fails to deliever us with amazing magical fairy tale stories. For the coming season we will see Luton Town Fc in the Premier League for the first time in their history. Luton town FC are one of the oldest clubs in England founded in 1885 but in their long history never had they ever played in top flight and will be playing it for the first time ever in upcoming season.

The interesting part remains their journey to the premier league and a rollercoster ride from hitting rock bottom after getting relegated from 2nd tier(Championship) to Non League Football and again climbing the hardest path and reaching the premier league in last 27 years. They completed the entire professional cycle of English top division bu playing every stages from Non League to the premier League.

The Downfall

Luton were a championship club for long time until the year 1992 where they were relegated to First division football. This was the start of darkest phas of Luton Town F.C as this was just the start of something much lower. From then onwards Luton would continously fall down the order and give average performances. Luton were facing continous financial crisis and were on the verge of bankrupcy 3 times in a sungle decade.

Financial Crisis was the main reason for the downfall of the club. The English FA would continously issue warnings against club financial irregularity. Due to financial irregulaties outside the club the FA in 2008-09 season punished the club with a massive 30 points deduction . This 30 point deduction would mean Luton would finish rock botton in fifth tier and end up getting relegated to non league football. A team playing in Second tier two decades ago would now be on the non football league.

Luton would finish second and not gain promotion and would spend another year in non league. One after another heartbreak would mean Luton Town would be on National League till 2014 when they would finally get a promotion to League 2.

The Climb

While on the non league, Luton made a history defeating Norwich city by a goal in FA cup being the first ever non league club to defeat a premier league side. This was a huge confidence booster. Later, Luton would see some managerial changes that worked wonders for the team. John still was appointed as manager who took Luton out of Non league winning the league. Luton would then appoint Nathan Jones as their manager who would guide the team in League 2 for 4 seasons ultimetely gaining the promotion to League 1 in the year 2018 by finishing second in the league.

It Just took Luton a year to qualify to the championship and they did it in stlye in 2019 season bu winning the entire League 1 . Luton would lose their star manager but the foundations had already been laid. For the next 4 years Luton fought in the Championship where it all started and everybody thought Luton was a championship club and could never be in the premier league.

Championship to Premier League

Rob Edwards would take the managerial roles and work wonders with Luton as last season Luton surprised everybody by finishing 3rd in the Championship and winning the Championship Playoffs defeating their rivals Coventry in the Finals in the penalties. In the finals Luton would score first and concede a goal to go till penalties where they win and book their seats for the first ever Premier League campaign.

The beauty of the football game was seen throughout their joursey how a team believed in their fundamentals and went on to do what was thought the impossible. How a team with stadium capacity of 10000 people and local fans would go on a massive rollercoaster ride within the last 27 years where they hit the absolute bottom and still somehow rose form the coffins to be one of the best teams in England. This is one of a kind story made in heavens and we have experienced something that we might never again experience.
