Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has credited the President of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), Chatur Bahadur Chand, and Secretary Paras Khadka for their support and efforts in making his participation in the Twenty20 World Cup possible.

In a Facebook post from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies, on Monday morning, Lamichhane expressed his gratitude towards Chand and Khadka. He wrote, "Grateful to Chairman Chatur Sir, Secretary and my dear Paras Dai..., whose extraordinary commitment and efforts in coordination with ICC made my journey to participate in this World Cup possible."

Lamichhane was acquitted of rape charges by the High Court, Patan, on May 15. However, despite multiple attempts, he was denied a visa by the World Cup co-host, the United States, resulting in him staying in Nepal while the Nepali team played in America.

Former national team captain and CAN Secretary Paras Khadka faced accusations of not assisting in Lamichhane’s visa process and of not wanting him to play in the World Cup. Addressing these allegations, Lamichhane stated, "I am disappointed that there is an attempt to tarnish the image of important people like Chatur Sir and Paras Dai, who made my comeback possible. Don't fall behind the false propaganda that tarnishes the image of CAN and Nepal cricket."

Lamichhane also emphasized the need for positive support as Nepal competes in the World Cup after a decade. He mentioned his anticipation to join the national team for two matches in the West Indies, aiming to fulfill his and the fans' dreams.

CAN announced on Monday that Lamichhane has been included in the 15-player squad for the World Cup, with young bowler Pratish GC on reserve.
