Nepali team to depart for Canada today

Nepali national cricket team is going to Canada today (Tuesday). Nepali team is going to Canada this morning to prepare for the series under ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.

Earlier, the team's visit to Canada was uncertain due to visas and flight tickets. The team will arrive in Scotland after training in Canada. Member Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Tankalal Ghising bade farewell to the Nepali team yesterday.

A 14-member squad was announced under the captaincy of Sandeep Lamichhane for the tour of Canada and Scotland. Nepal is scheduled to play two ODI series against the Canadian national team on July 4 and 5 and one game against a local club.

In ICC Cricket World Cup League-2, Nepal is in the fifth position of the table. Nepal has added 15 points in 16 games including seven wins, eight losses and one draw. Nepal has 20 games left to play in the League-2.

The one-day series between Nepal, Scotland and Namibia under the Cricket World Cup-2 will start on July 11. Nepal is scheduled to play Namibia on July 12 and 13 and Scotland on July 13 and 14.
