The match between Nepal and USA ended in a dramatic tie after debutant Aadil Alam bowled a brilliant last over in the ongoing ICC World Cup League 2. Both the teams shared a point each after the tie.
USA needed 6 runs to win from the last over with 6 wickets in hand. Aadil gave away just 3 runs from first 3 balls followed by a noball in the fourth.
With just 2 runs needed from last 3 balls, Aadil gave a single in the next ball making the scores level. USA now needed 1 run from 2 balls. But the debutant Aadil kept his nerves and dismissed Aaron Jones in the fifth ball. In the last ball of the innings, Rahul Jariwala was runout ending the match in a tie.
Earlier, Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first. Nepal was bowled out for 274 from 49.2 overs. Aasif Sheikh, Dev Khanal and Rohit Paudel scored half centuries for Nepal. This is Nepal's third biggest total in One Day Internationals. Nepal had scored 286 and 278 against PNG in TU Ground in March.
Chasing a target of 275 runs to win, USA lost opener Sushant Modani early. Steven Taylor and Monank Patel put on a 200 run stand for the second wicket as USA were looking for a comfortable win till then. Steven Taylor made 114 runs while Monank Patel made 85.
