Nepal is going to organize a triangular T20 series involving UAE and Hong Kong. The newly elected Central Committee meeting of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to host the tournament from October 17 to 26 in Kathmandu.

Nepal has taken this tournament in preparation for the ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers. Twenty-20 World Cup Asia qualifiers are being held in Kathmandu from November 1 to 10. 10 nations including Hong Kong, UAE and Nepal will compete in the tournament and the top two nations will reach the T20 World Cup organized by America and West Indies next year.

The first meeting of the elected CAN has formed an executive committee under the coordination of President Chatur Bahadur Chand with Vice President Roshan Kumar Singh, Secretary Paras Khadka, Treasurer Padam Khadka and Member Diwakar Ghale as members. The meeting has decided to hold the Prime Minister's Cup national competition this year on the basis of round robin among 7 provincial and 3 departmental teams. The semi-finals of this competition will be two-day and the final will be three-day.

CAN has decided to organize the Nepal Premier League (NPL) also. It is said that the competition will be held in March/April. According to CAN, in the case of other franchise league cricket, it can be conducted as a domestic league without foreign players. "During the discussion regarding the proposal of the Everest Premier League project with foreign players from the EPL, it was agreed to allow the competition to be held after the completion of the NPL competition," according to a statement issued by CAN Secretary Paras Khadka.

CAN has decided to organize cricket awards annually by making a procedure from this year. A 3-member investigation committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Sarvajit Pandey, president of Koshi Provincial Cricket Association, to investigate and submit a report on the dispute between Jhapa District Cricket Association representatives at the general meeting of CAN held on Friday and Saturday. After both Lakpa Lama and Manoj Katuwal claimed as Jhapa's representative, CAN took a controversial decision to dismiss Jhapa's representative. After being expelled from the general meeting by security personnel, former national player Lama accused CAN officials of becoming corrupt for their personal interests.

CAN will appoint a volunteer Provincial Development Officer in each province. For that, all the provincial cricket associations have to recommend and send one person from among the former players, people related to cricket to the center.
