Nepal faces second consecutive loss in ACC Emerging Cup as Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 83 runs. Chasing a target of 258 runs, Nepal could manage only 180 runs.
Having won the toss and elected to bowl first, Nepal started off well with the bowl. Avinash Karn picked up 3 wickets up front as Bangladesh were once struggling at 111-5. Thanks to an unbeaten century from Nasir Hossain and 61 runs from Mominul Haque that helped the hosts to manage 257/9 in 50 overs. Apart from Avinash, Sandeep picked up 2 wickets for Nepal.
In reply, Nepal didn't get a good start. Gyanendra (0), Sunil (1) and Aasif (12) got out early as Nepal was struggling at 16-3. Youngsters Dilip Nath and Dipendra Singh Airee got a good partnership going as Dipendra scored 56 and Dilip contributed 41 runs. But not enough support from other batsmen apart from Binod Bhandari (33) meant that Nepal fell 83 short of the target.
