Nepal piles up records against Mongolia

Nepal defeated Mongolia by 273 runs in their first match.. This is the biggest win by run difference in men's T20 international cricket so far.
Mongolia won the toss and invited Nepal to bat. Nepal scored 314 runs by losing three wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. It is the first time that any team has scored 300 runs in T20 international cricket.
Chasing the target of 315 runs, Mongolia was bowled out for 41 runs in 13.1 overs. Apart from Jamyasuren adding 10 runs, no other batsmen were able to score double digit runs.
On the bowling side, Nepal's Karan KC, Abhinas Bohra and Sandeep Lamichhane took 2/2 and Sompal Kami, Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee shared a wicket each.
Earlier in first innings, Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee were the star for Nepal with the bat. Kushal Malla scored a record breaking century from just 34 balls. Previously, the record for the fastest century was held by South Africa's David Miller, Czech Republic's Sudesh Wickremesekhar and India's Rohit Sharma. They scored a century in 35 balls.
Dipendra Singh Airee made another world record by scoring a half-century from just 9 balls. The record was in the name of India's Yuvraj Singh who scored a half-century in 12 balls against England in 2007. Kushal Malla scored an unbeaten 137 runs off 50 balls and Airee scored an unbeaten 52 runs off 10 balls. Malla hit 12 sixes and 8 fours while Airee hit 8 sixes.
Similarly, captain Rohit Kumar Paudel scored 61 runs off 27 balls, Kushal Bhurtel scored 19 runs off 23 balls and Asif Sheikh scored 16 runs off 17 balls. Nepal will play their next group stage match against Maldives.
