Nepal defeated Bhutan by 50 runs

Nepal defeated Bhutan by 50 runs in the ACC Women's T20 Championship on Friday. Nepal, who  won the toss and elected to bat, scored 94 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs at the UKM-YSD Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia.

Kajal Shrestha was the top scorer for Nepal with 26 runs. Similarly, captain Rubina Chhetri scored 21 runs while Indu Burma scored 20 runs. No other batter could score double digit score.

Sonam was the top wicket taker for Bhutan with 4 wickets. She conceeded 13 runs in 4 overs with 1 maiden. Meanwhile, Anju Gurung and Tashi Cheki took 1/1 wickets each.

Chasing a target of 95 runs to win, Bhutan were all out for 44 runs from 17.5 overs. Except for Chiring Jangmo, no one was able to score a double digit run for Bhutan. Chhiring scored 16 runs off 28 balls.

Sabnam Rai took maximum 4 wickets from Nepal. She bowled 2.5 overs and gave away only 6 runs. Similarly, Kavita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar took 2/2 wickets each. Asmina Karmacharya and Indu Burma took 1/1 wickets each.

The two teams that reach the final of the ongoing competition will be selected for the Asia Cup. The Nepali team is now scheduled to play Kuwait on 18th June, Bahrain on 20th June and Hong Kong on 21st June.
