Mumbai Indians completed their sixth consecutive win in IPL 2017 as they defeat Delhi Daredevils in a low scoring thriller. Delhi were restricted to 128/7 chasing a target of 143.
Delhi won the toss and elected to bowl first at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Parthiv Patel (8), Jos Buttler (28), Nitish Rana (8) and skipper Rohit Sharma (5) were out cheaply as Mumbai were struggling at 84-5. Kieron Pollard (26) and Hardik Pandya (24) helped Mumbai post a total of 142/8 from their 20 overs. Amit Mishra and Pat Cummins picked up 2 wickets each while Kagiso Rabada picked up 1 wicket.
In reply, Delhi started badly losing as Aditya Tare was runout in the very first over. None of the batsmen in the top 6 were able to score double digit score as Delhi were struggling at 24-6. But a brilliant partnership between Chris Morris (52) and Kagiso Rabada (44) kept some hope alive for Delhi. But ultimately Delhi fell short of the target by 14 runs. MJ McClenaghan finished with the figures of 3-24 and was awarded Man of the Match.
Match Summary:
Mumbai Indians 142 for 8 (Buttler 28, Mishra 2-18, Cummins 2-20)

Delhi Daredevils 128 for 7 (Morris 52*, Rabada 44, McClenaghan 3-24, Bumrah 2-21)
