KKR defeat KXIP by 8 wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) registered their second win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as they chased down the target of 171 in just 16.3 overs against Kings XI Punjab.

Kings XI Punjab batted first and got a good start with a 53 run stand between Hashim Amla(25) and Manan Vohra(28). Stoinis came in at 3 but could manager just 9 runs. Maxwell(25), Miller(28) and Saha(25) all got starts but couldn't convert into big ones. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for KKR with the figures of 4-33. Woakes picked up 2 wickets while one wicket each of Narine, Chawla and Grandhomme.

KKR in reply made a smart move by opening with Sunil Narine that paid off quite well. Narine blasted 37 runs from 18 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Skipper Gambhir remained unbeaten on 72 while Uthappa added 26 and Manish Pandey was notout on 25. A wicket each for Varun Aaron and Axar Patel for Punjab.

Sunil Narine was named Man of the Match for his allround performance with both bat and ball.
