After the cleap sweep by 3-0 in the T20 by the Afghanistan, it seems that Afghanistan will dominate the ODI series after the 2-0 win against Ireland in the first 2 matches of 5 match ODI series. But Ireland experienced allrounder Kevin O'Brien performance took all the credit in the 4th ODI match played at Greater Noida on 22nd of March and made his team to level the series 2-2 and was adjudged Man of the Match.

Afghanistan won the toss and decides to bat first but things turned out horrible for the Afghanistan as they lost 3 wickets at the score of 11 runs on the board in 4.5 overs. The star wicketkeeper opener batsman Mohammad Shahzad was sent back to pavilion by Kevin O'Brien after scoring just 1 run. Usman Ghani scored 3 runs, Rahmat Shah went for 10 balls duck, skipper Asghar Stanikzai scored 35 runs of 55 balls with 5 fours, Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 23 runs of 45 balls with 3 fours, Gulbadin Naib went for 2 runs, Mohammad Nabi scored 41 runs, Rashid went for duck, Shafiqullah scored 42 and Dawlat Zadran played a notout innings of 41 runs from 53 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. The tail enders helped Afghanistan team to set a respectable total of 220 runs in 49.5 overs.

For Ireland, Kevin O'Brien damaged the opening batting line up by picking up 3 wickets and ended with 4 wickets for 26 runs in 7 overs. Jacob Mulder took 3 wickets, Andy McBrine took 2 wickets and Tim Murtagh took 1 wicket.

Paul Stirling the leading run-scorer of the series and already strucked 3 consecutive half centuries in the first 3 ODI matches has given a good start of 48 runs in 9.3 overs to the Ireland team along with Ed Joyce. Paul Stirling scored 28 runs of 30 balls with 4 fours and 1 six and Ed Joyce scored 24 runs of 42 balls with 3 fours. None of the middle order batsman looked comfortable at the crease and quickly sent back to pavilion. At one stage, Ireland were 48/1 in 9.3 overs but in the 15.3 overs they were struggling at 59/3. The 7th wicket partnership of 66 runs in 11.2 overs between Kevin O'Brien and GC Wilson swept the hopes away of Afghani side. Kevin played a notout innings of 72 runs in 60 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. GC Wilson scored a handy 41 runs of 67 balls with 3 fours. Ireland chased down the target of 221 runs in 46.5 overs and scored 224 runs with the loss of 7 wickets.

For Afghanistan, allrounder Mohammad Nabi took 4 wickets, Rashid khan took 2 wickets and Gulbadin Naib took 1 wicket.

Both the teams will face each other on Friday in their final, deciding match in their 5-match series.
