The 8th match of the Asian Qualifiers 2016 is between Nepal Womens andHong Kong Womens. Nepal whohad won the last match against China and Hong Kong who lost their last match against Thailand will fight for 2 points to be in the competition for ICC World Cup 2017.

Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first. Opener Kajal Shrestha and Sita Rana Magar both sent to pavilion cheaply and had added 2 runs for the 1st wicket in 1.2 overs. Kajal was bowled by Chan Ka Man at the score of 2 runs of 10 balls and Sita was also dismissed by Chan Ka Man in another over at the score of 1 run. Nirmala Shahi the star performer from Nepal side in the last 3 matches was sent back to pavilion at the score of 3 runs by Hong Kong skipper Mariko Hill. Nepal struggles at the score of 9/3 in 3.3 overs. Then the partnership of 20 runs for the 4th wicket in 4.5 overs came at the crucial time in between wicketkeeper batsman Jyoti Pandey and Indu Verma. Jyoti Pandey was sent back to pavilion of Keenu Gill at the score of 11 runs from 22 balls with 1 four and Nepal score was 29/4 in 8.2 overs. Experienced Nary Thapa came to join Indu Verma at the crease for the 5th wicket and managed to score 17 runs partnership in 3.5 overs. Indu Verma had been bowled by Keenu Gill at 15 runs of 26 balls and takes her 2nd wicket in the match and Nepal were 46/5 in 12.1 overs. Nary Thapa who looks in a good touch was runout by Chan Ka Man at the score of 10 runs of 12 balls with 2 fours. Sarita Magar was also runout by Marina Lamplough at the score of 5 runs of 13 balls. Sarita was the 10th runout dismissal in 4 matches Nepal has played including this match which is most in this Asian Qualifiers Tournament. Skipper Rubina scored 4 runs of 4 balls and Karuna Bhandari who was the top scorer for Nepal remained notout at 19 runs of 27 balls with 2 fours. Nepal scored 75/8 in their 20 overs.

Betty Chan Ka Man took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 11 runs. Keenu Gill took 2 wickets in 4 overs for 9 runs and skipper Mariko Hill took 1 wicket in her 4 overs for 17 runs.

Hong Kong Womens came to chase 76 runs in 20 overs with their openers Sze Wan Yip and Kary Chan. Skipper Rubina bowled the opener Sze Wan Yip at the score of 1 run of 5 balls and had 9 runs of partnership for the 1st wicket in 2.1 overs. For the 2nd wicket, 24 runs were added in 5.2 overs by Kary Chan and Keenu Gill. With Kary wicket Hong Kong are 33/2 in 7.3 overs. Kary Chan scored 18 runs of 22 balls with 1 four before she was stumped by Jyoti Pandey of Nirmala. Nirmala dismissed 6 batsman in the tournament with Kary wicket. After this, Karuna took Keenu in the 9th over at the score of 10 runs of 19 balls and Sita Rana bowled Shanzeen Shahzad at 2 runs in the 10th over. Marina Lamplough was bowled by Karuna to keep hope alive of Nepal at the score of 1 run in 10.2 over and Charlotte Chan who scored 2 runs was runout by Karuna in 10.5 over and Hong Kong Womens were 44/6. In the 13th over of Karuna Bhandari third and fourth ball, Ishitaa Gidwani was runout by Sarswati Kumari at a score of 2 runs and Jenefer Davies was caught by Jyoti for a duck respectively and Hong Kong struggles at 52/8. Hong Kong skipper Mariko Hill was caught by Nirmala of Sita Rana at the score of 13 runs of 16 balls with 1 four. Last wicket was taken by Sabnam Rai of Betty Chan Ka Man. Nepal register their 2nd win in a thriller match.

Karuna Bhandari took 3 wickets in her 4 overs for 17 runs. Sita Rana took 2 wickets in 4 overs for 15 runs. Nirmala, Shabnam and Rubina took 1 wicket each.

Result: Nepal won by 6 runs.
