India win series with Rohit's record ton

India defeated Srilanka by 88 runs in the second T20 at Indore to take anunassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Rohit Sharma was the star with the bat for India as he equalled David Miller's record of the fastest T20I century off 35 balls.
India posted 260/5 in their first innings with Rohit Sharma's 43 ball 118 and KL Rahul's 49 ball 89. Rohit and Rahul put on 165 run stand which is the highest opening stand for Team India in T20. The record was previously held by Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul who had put on 158 run stand. The knock was Rohit's second T20 hundred and the best by an Indian in this format.
MS Dhoni scored 28 runs asDhoni and Rahul added 87 runs for the third wicket. Sri Lanka came back strong by picking up a couple of wickets, in the end, to keep India under 300.
Srilanka in reply were once 145/1 from 13.1 overs before the batting collapse started and evetually allout for 172 runs. Kushal Perera was the top scorer for Srilanka with 77 runs off 37 deliveries while Upul Tharanga scored 47 runs.Angelo Mathews was unable to bat due to hamstring injury and is ruled out of the final game in Mumbai.
