Indian Cricket Team who is currently playing their 3rd Test match against Australia in JCSA International Satdium Complex in Ranchi will be touring Sri Lanka in March 2018. Sri Lanka who is currently playing their 2nd Test match against Bangladesh will also be joining to play a tri-nation T20I tournament.
Sri Lanka cricket team is scheduled to play the 5 ODI, 3 Test and 2 T20I in India next year but some of the ODI matches will be replaced into T20 matches.
In a meeting of the top board officials in Colombo on the occasion of Bangladesh’s historic 100th Test match which started from yesterday, BCCI CEO Rahul Johri is believed to have had discussions with Bangladesh Cricket Board supremo Nazmul Hasan Papon and SLC chief Thilanga Sumathipala.
The Sri Lanka Cricket president Thilanga Sumathipala said, “The technical committee and cricket committee is looking into it, but at the moment we would like it to be a T20 triangular, that’s what the agreement is. We made this appeal to India in about June or May last year. India were here during the Asian Cricket Council opening ceremony, so we discussed this and it’s been going on for seven to eight months. So this has nothing to do with the ICC board meeting that happened in February. Our stand has been very clear.”
