India outplayed South Africa in their last group match to secure a place in the semi finals of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. India chased down the target of 192 in 38 overs with 8 wickets remaining to end the journey of South Africa in the tournament. India will most probably be facing Bangladesh in the semi finals.
After being put in to bat, South Africa were restricted to 191 despite having a good start. Hasim Amla and Quinton de Kock added 76 runs for first wicket in 17.3 overs before Ravichandran Ashwin sent Amla back to the pavilion. Amla scored 35 runs while de Kock made 72 ball 53. South Africa lost wickets regularly from there on. AB de Villiers and David Miller were runout while Faf Du Plesis was bowled by Hardik Pandya.

Chasing a total of 192, India lost Rohit Sharma in 6th over of the innings. 128 runs stand between Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli made sure that India chased down the total comfortably. Dhawan was out to Imran Tahir for 78 while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 76 runs.
