India continue to dominate Srilanka as they take 4-0 lead

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored hundreds as India defeat Srilanka by 168 runs in the fourth ODI to take a 4-0 lead in the 5 match series. India posted a mamooth total of 375/5 from 50 overs and restricted Srilanka for 207 runs as Srilanka suffered their biggest defeat by runs margin in a home ODI.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan early for just 4 runs. A 200+ partnership between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma provided India the momentum. Kohli completed his 29th ODI hundred and went past Srilankan Sanath Jayasurya to get third position on the list of most centuries in ODI cricket. Kohli is now only behind Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma became the first Indian batsman to score back-to-back centuries in Sri Lanka. Manish Pandey(50) and MS Dhoni(49) provided the late flourish in the Indian innings.

Chasing a target of 376, Srilanka lost Noroshan Dickwella to Shardul Thakur. By the end of 15th over, Srilanka were 68/4. Milinda Siriwardana and Angelo Mathews 73 runs for the fifth wicket before Hardik Pandya got Siriwardana for 39. Angelo Mathews was the highest scorer for Srilanka with 70 runs including 10 fours. Srilanka kept on losing wickets and end up on 207. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets each while Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel shared a wicket each.

Things are going from bad to worse for Sri Lanka, who needed to win at least two matches in the ongoing series to seal automatic qualification for the 2019 World Cup.They can still directly qualify, provided the West Indies don't win more than three of their upcoming five ODIs against England.
