India are in a commanding position at the end of day 2 of the third and final test at Pallekele International Stadium on Sunday. Hardik Pandya completed his maiden test century as India posted a total of 487 in their first innings.

Hardik Pandya smashed 26 runs off Malinda Pushpakumara to create a record of most runs scored by an Indian in an over in Test Cricket. His century came off just 86 balls including 7 sixes and 7 fours.The allrounder Pandya scored 108 runs as he got good support from lower order batsmen Kuldeep Yadav and Umesh Yadav. Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer for India in the first innings with 119 runs.

India bowled brilliantly to restrict Srilanka for a mere 135 runs. Young Kuldeep Yadav was once again the pick of the bowlers for India as he finished with the figures of 4-40. Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammad Shami shared 2 wickets each while Hardik Pandya chipped in with a wicket.Captain Dinesh Chandimal was the only one to offer some resistance with 48 (87 balls).

Having secured a 352-run lead, Virat Kohli enforced the follow-on for the second time in successive Tests. Srilanka have already lost Upul Tharanga 7 runs and are strugglingat 19/1needing a further 333 to make India bat again.

India have already won the three-match series after taking a 2-0 unassailable lead in the series.
