Ben Stokes ton keeps England in strong position

Century from Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes on day 2 of the first Test against India gave England an upper hand early in the game.

Moeen Ali who was not out at 99 in the end of day 1, completed his century in first session of day 2. He got out scoring 117 runs. After the wicket of Ali it was Ben Stokes and JM Bairstow who maintained the scorecard as they two made 99 runs stand for the 6 wicket. A little effort from ZS Ansari in the lower order helped England to cross the 500 mark. England were bowled out for 537 runs and it was a big task for the Indians batsmen. In reply, it was a solid start from the Indians openers, Murali Vijay and Gautam Gambhir played some excellent stroke as India end the day on 63 runs without losing a wicket.

It will be intresting to see how the Indians batsmen deal with the big task set in front of them on day 3.
