Spanish club Real Madrid's winger Gareth Bale has been signed by the American Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).

The 32-year-old Wales captain has signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles through a free agent. Los Angeles on Monday announced the signing of Bale at the club. He will be in Los Angeles until 2023. Bell has agreed to an additional one-year deal through the targeted amount.

Bale is likely to play at an American club for another year. John Thorington, co-chairman and general manager of Los Angeles, described Bell as one of the most dynamic and exciting attacking players of his generation.

"Bringing a talented player like Bell to the club is an incredible opportunity for the club. He is motivated to win the trophy. We are excited too" the club said in a statement.

Bell captained Wales in the play-off final of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers earlier this month. Wales defeated Ukraine in the play-off final to qualify for the World Cup.

Bell arrived at Spanish club Real Madrid from English club Tottenham at the then world record price. Bell, who had a high performance in the opening season at Real, was not the first choice last time. Bell wants to play regular football to get a spot in the team for the World Cup in Qatar. That might be the major reason why he left Real after 9 seasons.
