Babar Azam and Hasan Ali Levels The Series For Pakistan

The 2nd ODI match between the host West Indies and Pakistan at the Providence Stadium, Guyana where an unbeaten 125 runs from 132 balls from Babar Azam and a 5 wicket haul from Hasan Ali led Pakistan side to a comfortable 74-run victory on Sunday. Pakistan levels 3 match ODI series by 1-1, with a match remaining to decide the series.
The host West Indies won the toss and invited the tourist team to bat first. The openers for Pakistan Ahmed Shehzad (5) and Kamran Akmal (21) was sent back to pavilion at cheap score. Babar Amam hits his 5 ODI ton and played a superb notout innings of 125 runs in 132 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. This was Babar Azam career best innings, and later joined by Imad Wasim qucik scored 45 runs of 35 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes which led the visitors to a respectable total of 282-5 from their 50 overs.
For West Indies, Shannon Gabriel took 2 wickets in 10 overs. Alzarri Joseph, Devendra Bishoo and Ashley Nurse took 1 wicket each.
In reply, the host West indies struggled for momentum throughout its innings and managed only 208 off 44.5 overs. West Indies began its run chase with strong intent, but with both openers back in the pavilion after 4.2 overs, and the score 56-5 after 14 overs, Pakistan’s bowlers were always in the box seat. Pakistan never allowed to settle the middle order batsman until the Jason Holder 68 runs innings came of 87 balls with 6 fours and 1 six.
For Pakistan, Hasan Ali the pace bowler taking 5-38 from 8.5 overs. Mohammad Hafeez took 2 wickets. Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan and Shadab Khan shared 1 wicket each.
The brilliant inning from Babar Azam helped him to level the series by 1-1 and was adjuged Man of the Match. The third and deciding game of the series will be held on Tuesday, also in Providence.
