Aasif shines with bat as Nepal beat Bangladesh

Nepal defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the last practice match of the tour. Nepal chased down the target of 226 runs in 47th over losing 4 wickets.

Aasif Sheikh was the star for Nepal as he scored 90 runs and added 139 runs for the first wicket with Jitendra Singh Thakuri. Jitendra scored 45 runs. Aasif's inning included 9 fours and 3 sixes as he faced 88 balls to score 90 runs.Anil Kumar Sah scored 15 runs while skipper Dipendra Singh Airee and Rohit Kumar Paudeladded 42 runs for fourth wicket. Rohit was out for 22 ball 25 before getting bowled to Roni Hossain. Dipendra Singh Airee remained unbeaten on 27 runs off 35 balls while Bhim Sharki was notout on 10 balls 13 as Nepal chased down the target to complete a well deserved victory.

Earlier, Bangladesh put on 225/7 from 50 overs after having won the toss.Aminul Islam scored an unbeaten 80 runs for Bangladesh while Mohammad Rakib scored 39.Shahab Alam was the pick of the bowlers for Nepal as he finished with the figures of 3-45.Anil Sah picked up 2 wickets while Dipendra Airee picked up 1 wicket.

Bangladesh won the series 2-1 as Nepal had lost first 2 matches ofthe series. Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 3 wickets in the first match while Nepal lost by a huge margin of 123 runs in the second match.

The series was for the preparation of the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup to be held in Malaysia. Nepal has been placed in Group A along with India, Bangladesh and Malaysia in the ACC U19 Asia Cup. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and winner of the ongoing ACC U-19 Western Region tournament are placed in Group B.
