The Women's T20 World Cup is approaching as the kick off of the marquee event takes place on 3 October 2024. But, do you know there are seven veterans in the T20 World Cup who are part of every edition of the T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup has happened in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2023. The ninth edition of the tournament is just a few days away.

Today, we are going to look them with their stats on the T20 World Cup.

1. Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian cricket team, who is known for her powerful batting is the one in the list. Looking at her stats, she has played 35 matches in the World Cup making 576 runs at an average of 20.57. She has taken eleven wickets at an average of 12.63.

Some of her great knocks include her 103(51) against New Zealand in the 2018 edition and 52(34) against Australia in the 2023 edition of the marquee event.

2. Chamari Athapaththu

Chamari Athapaththu, a powerful batter from Sri Lanka is in the list of the T20 World Cup veterans who have played every edition of the T20 World CUp. She has played 28 World Cup matches to make 666 runs at an average of 23.78. She has taken eight wickets and has a bowling average of 32.37.

Some of her great knocks include 43(44) against India in 2014 and 52(49) & 1/12 against South Africa in 2016. She had also played a 68(50) knock against South Africa in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

3. Ellyse Perry

Ellyse Perry, the Australian player known for her powerful batting and sharp bowling in cricket have also played all the editions of the T20 World Cup with 42 matches in total. She has made 371 runs at an average of 26.50. She has taken 40 wickets at a bowling average of 17.67.

She has won six world cup titles so far and this time will look for the seventh one.

She had a bowling spell of 3/18 in the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2010 against New Zealand. She contributed with both bat and ball in the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2014 as she made 31 runs and had a bowling spell of 2/13 against England.

4. Stafanie Taylor

Stafanie Taylor, a reliable all-rounder from the West Indies, has also been a part of every edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. She has played 31 world cup matches and has made 926 runs at an average of 37.04. She has taken thirty-three wickets at a bowling average of 15.51.

She was the winner of the Wome's T20 World Cup 2016.

5. Marizanne Kapp

Marizanne Kapp, an all-rounder from South Africa, is also a veteran in the list who have played all the editions of the World Cup and will be part of the upcoming edition of the world cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

She has played 26 world cup matches making 363 runs at an average of 17.28. She has taken 26 wickets at a bowling average of 17.30.

6. Suzie Bates

Suzie Bates, an all-rounder from New Zealand is one of the only two players from the team to be featured in every edition of the World Cup and will also be part of the marquee event starting in a few days in the UAE.

7. Sophie Devine

Sophie Devine, an all-rounder and the only other player from New Zealand to be part of every edition of the World Cup have played 32 matches and have made 671 runs at a batting average of 25.90. She has taken 29 wickets at a bowling average of 16.48.
