T20 Worldcup : Namibia stun Srilanka

Namibia defeated Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the opening match of the T-20 World Cup in Australia.
Chasing a target of 164 runs to win the match against Namibia, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 108 runs in 19 overs. The Sri Lankan team's batsmen, who won the World Cup in 2014, could not last the entire 20 overs against the Namibian bowlers.
Captain Dasun Shanaka was the top scorer with 29 runs for Sri Lanka. Bhanuka Rajapakse scored 20 runs and Dhananjay de Silva scored 12 runs. Maheesh Theekshana remained not out for 11 runs. Other batters could not score runs in double figures.
For Namibia, David Wiese, Bernard Scholtz, Ben Shikongo and Jan Frylinck each took 2 wickets while JJ Smith took 1 wicket.
Earlier, after losing the toss and getting the opportunity to bat first, Namibia scored 163 runs losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Jan Frylinck scored highest 44 runs for Namibia. Middle-order batsmen fired up Namibia under pressure after Michael van Lingen 3 and Divan la Cock were dismissed for 9 runs. Jan Nichal scored 20, Stephen Baard scored 26, Gerhard Erasmus scored 20 and JJ Smith scored 31 runs.
Pramod Madushan Liyanagamage took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka. Similarly, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Chamika Karunaratne and Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva took 1 wicket each.
