Rodrygo Silva de Goes has renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2028. His salary has been increased and the release clause has been set at one billion Euros. Although the agreement between Rodrigo and the club was reached last year, the formal renewal took place a few days ago. However, the date has not been disclosed.
After the previous agreement, he will be in Real for the next 3 seasons. It is said that the new renewal agreement was signed due to his behavior and performance. At the end of the previous season, his future was in doubt. Since last April, his role in Real's success has been significant.
Since then, he has scored seven goals and 13 assists. He has scored 3 goals in Real Madrid's journey to win the Champions League for the 14th time. He scored in extra time in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Chelsea and two goals in the semi-final against Manchester City.
Rodrygo, who is on leave after a huge success, is hopeful of playing in the first-choice in the new season. However, due to recent performances, he is likely to replace Marco Asensio. Asensio's future at the club looks uncertain.
Brazilian forward Rodrigo has been with Real Madrid for four seasons. During this time, he has won 5 titles including a Champions League, two La Liga and two Spanish Super Cups. He is hopeful of playing for Brazil in this year's World Cup in Qatar.
