Skipper Virat Kohli smashed 123 runs off just 95 balls with 16 fours and a six but wasn't enough to take his team to victory. Apart from Kohli, Vijay Shankar scored a quick 32. Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa and Jhye Richardson shared 3 wickets each while Nathan Llyon picked up a wicket.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. Aaron Finch (93) and Usman Khawaja (104) added 193 runs for the first wicket before Glenn Maxwell smashed a 31 ball 47 which included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Stoinis remained unbeaten on 31 while Alex Carey remained unbeaten on 21 runs. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India as he finised with the figures of 3-64 from his quota of 10 overs.
