Nepali team for Emerging Cup announced

Nepali cricket team for the upcoming ACC Emerging Teams Cup has been announced. While a few senior players have been rested, a number of young players get a chance to show their talent in the tournament.

Regular skipper Paras Khadka is still recovering from the surgery and takes rest while Shakti Gauchan, Basant Regmi and Sompal Kami have been rested. Players like Bhuwan Karki, Sushan Bhari, Dipesh Shrestha and Dilip Nath get a place in the squad.

A three-member selection team comprising ICC-Asia Cricket Development Officer Venkatapathy Raju, Nepal head coach Jagat Tamatta and skipper Khadka made the selection.

The tournament will feature national cricket teams of Nepal, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Malaysia along with U-23 teams from India, Srilanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Nepal team will be competing against Pakistan U-23, Bangladesh U-23 and Hong Kong in Group B.
