Nary, Sita Shines as Nepal Won 2 Points in Asian Qualifiers

On Tuesday 11th October 2016, the fifth match between Nepal Womens and China Womens was played at Kowloon Cricket Club. Nepal Womens and China Womens who have lost their last two games will fight for the 2 points.
Nepal won the toss and choose to bat. Today the opening combination was different for Nepal but was not successful and the pair have added 13 runs for the 1st wicket in 2.3 overs. Opener Kajal Shrestha scored 2 runs of 8 balls and Sita Rana scored 6 runs of 15 balls. Nirmala Shahi the top performer and the leading run scorer of the tournament with 68 runs in 3 matches at an average of 22.66, for Nepal side returned to pavilion after scoring 14 runs of 21 balls with 1 six. Indu verma scored 3 runs of 7 balls. Nary Thapa top scored for Nepal with 38 runs from 42 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Jyoti Pandey the wicketkeeper batswomen came to bat for 5th wicket had added 10 runs of 18 balls. Bohara Roshani scored 1, skipper Rubina added 4 runs. Sarita and Karuna scored 1 run each respectively. Nepal batted the whole 20 overs and scored 95 runs for losing 9 wickets.
China, Li Yinying had taken a 5 wicket haul in 4 overs giving away 12 runs. Liu Jie took 2 wickets in 4 overs for 15 runs and Caiyun Zhou took 1 wicket in her 3 overs for 9 runs.
In the 2nd innings, China openers Caiyun Zhou scored 7 runs of 28 balls with 1 four and Fengfeng Song scored 7 runs of 16 balls. The skipper of China Huang Zhuo was stumped at the score of 4 runs of 5 balls with 1 four by Jyoti Pandey of Sita delivery. Zou Miao the wicketkeeper batswomen added 10 runs of 16 balls with 1 four before she was bowled by Sabnam Rai. Liu Jie scored 4 runs of 4 balls and was sent back to pavilion by Nirmala Shahi direct hit (runout). Mingyue Zhu added 2 runs and was done lbw by Sita Rana. Wu Juan remained notout and scored 11 runs of 18 balls. And, Li Yinying scored a notout of 10 runs of 9 balls.
Sita Rana took took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 16 runs. Sabnam Rai took 2 wickets in 4 overs for 10 runs. Indu Verma and Sarita took 1 wicket each for Nepal. Nepal restricted China to a total of 75 with the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Result: Nepal won the match by 20 runs.
