Attacking batter Jaker Ali was among a group of players who made six-hitting a regular feature of Bangladesh's white-ball sides in the 2020s.
A wicketkeeper-batter who made his T20I debut in the 2023 Asian Games, his home debut was a whirlwind 68 off 34 balls against Sri Lanka. Jaker's ability to consistently hit big was developed ahead of the 2022-23 BPL, when he trained with coach Mohammad Salahuddin for a month in his academy outside Dhaka.
In 2024, he became Bangladesh's man for a crisis in Tests lower down the order, striking fifties in his first four matches, including a match-winning and series-tying 91 against West Indies in Jamaica. On that tour he also helped seal a 3-0 T20I win in Kingstown with a 41-ball 72.
Jaker got to his 50th six for Bangladesh in his 42nd game, an ODI where he made a half-century against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
